Big the Jonathan is a special super-powered boss only found in Co-op mode. He was original introduced during the Beach Party event in 2018 which also introduced the mode. As of the end of 2018, he has yet to return to 100% Orange Juice!.

Overview[edit | edit source]

Big the Jonathan is the most complex boss in the game, featuring a massive pool of health and the ability to fight back with field events and other abilities. Like all bosses, he can only be encountered when the player lands on a  Boss panel, but unlike other bosses, Big plays a much larger role during the match and is the first attacker, unless the player is an Attacker role. The player must defeat Big before chapter 50 or survive until chapter 50, otherwise Big will be the victor. When the match begins, Big's health will automatically change depending on the roles chosen by the players (or NPCs if the player is offline). In total, he will gain +5 health for each Attacker, -5 for each Guardian, 0 for each Supporter, and +10 for each Avenger. As a result, Big has a max health of 100 and minimum health of 40 when the match starts. Every 10 chapters, Big will also receive an additional +1 attack stat buff. As a result, by chapter 40, Big becomes a huge threat to the players, with a whopping +4 attack and lowest possible roll of 5.

The greatest strength of Big, however, is his secondary abilities. Big can manipulate the game with field events and card effects to greatly harm the players. The first and most common effect throughout the match is Terror from Above. Every 2 chapters random panels will turn into  Boss panels. On chapter 30, all  Home panels will replaced with  Neutral panels. On chapter 40, all panels except  Warp and  Warp Move panels will be boss panels. The following chapter, the neutral panels will become boss panels as well. Combined with Big's +4 attack by chapter 40, the player will be facing off against an extremely powerful opponent almost every turn. As a result, it is generally best to defeat Big before chapter 40 if possible.

Big's last and most deadly ability are his other field events. Big begins the game with two field events (which occur every 3 chapters) alongside Terror from Above. On chapter 10 and 20, however, Big will replace one of his starting events with a more deadly one. On chapter 30 he will start using these event every 2 chapters instead of every 3rd. These abilities can easily spell certain defeat for the players if Big chooses  Sealed Guardian and  Delta Field as his field events. If the player has not finished off Big by chapter 50, he will end the game with a  Whimsical Windmill to try and KO every player with his +5 attack stat. If he fails, the players will win.

Every 3 Chapters, a Trap Card will be set on a randomly determined panel. These Trap Cards are not affiliated with the Center Deck, and will therefore not return to the Center Deck afterwards.
